What's the best Pop up Blocker?
Here's the problem. I'm a firefox person. Internet Explorer to me is very annoying. One day i started getting all these insane pop ups from internet explorer (as well as some on firefox, but primarily on IE), things like 'ABC search', '888 poker', etc. Now I've got that annoying MBS Bill pop up, which you can't unlock for a certain amount of time. Can someone PLEASE give me any details of free software that is really handy for stuff like this, and i aint talking about trial versions. I'm only reformatting my computer as a last resort. ?????

Should online poker be banned?
The reason i ask is because of the damage these sites can do, i recently went through a messy break up which left me in bad state of mind which ended up in me needing hospital treatment.
The break up was expensive enough, but using a poker room to lose myself for a while made it even worse, i lost everything.
I have come out the other end(sort of (o:), but it would have been sensible for the site i was using(888 poker in this case) to monitor betting paterns. I was just you ordinary electrical engineer that was working very little at the time, yet this site allowed me to wager over £1.6 million in bets, i lost everything.
Please Guys, if you have the addictive nature, stay well away, these people will take every last penny.
John
Already some good answers, and i think it was Ann that said it should just be monitored more, maybe not a ban(but i am still not 100% that it should not).
It is a losers game, and it got me at a time when i was up there with the fairys (o:, (had CBT in hospital for 9 months last year), i was a poker sites dream (o:
If you can afford to lose it and you are more controlled and you can play ok, it,s fine.
I bet something like £1.6 million in less than a year(the local press want to do a story on it), it should be like the pubs where someone is saying to you "Don't you think you have had enough sir".
They do play on the weak, and i was your classic example, but still it is all good character building stuff, how many elctricians can say they bet £1.6 million on a game of cards (o:
Hi Doug
Yes i really did bet £1.6 million in total, it was actually nearly $3.5 million, so i have not exagerated. the money came from property, savings(and other sources that i cannot really talk about)
And how can i complain about it, they offered a legal service and i was stupid enough to jump in with both feet, i can live with it.
I just do not want to see a family man(and i am sure there are many) making the same mistakes.
If they are not going to go down the USA route, then i really do hope that once a someone starts betting a little too much, questions are asked, and he is curbed from blowing his family income.
Maybe even Banks should step in once they see the sums going out of the account, especially when the person in question has a huge loan or overdraft.
Please Beans, don't be a rude little lad, i am only putting the question, its called debate, and i am also of the opinion that it should not be banned(probably).
As for the lying accusation, are you a betting man Beans, i will bet you that i have staked over £1.6 million in the last 18 months, have you got the balls and how much do you want to bet.
