Poker Hand

The Royal Flush is the Highest Ranking Poker Hand That Can be Drawn

Poker is a game where you need lots of luck to play well. This luck consists mainly of having a good Poker Hand. For the experience player there is no need to say what this Poker Hand term means. For the total beginner or the poker uninitiated poker hands refer to the cards that you draw. There are various combinations of cards that will propel you into the winning seat.

These combinations depend on the cards that you have. Some of these card combinations will outrank the other card hands or tumble you into despair. While these poker hands are for the most part used in poker they can be used with other card games too. In general poker hands are used in a five card game. You will have card combinations that can provide you with the strongest chance of winning.

Among these poker hands are the Royal Flush, Full House, Three of a Kind, Straight Flush and others. These different combinations are all given rankings that show you the strongest to the weakest cards. For instance in the poker card combinations that have been given above, you will find that the Royal Flush is the highest ranking Poker Hand that can be drawn.

A Full House poker hand is about three hand rankings below the Royal Flush but it is still a good hand to draw. You might want to draw a Straight Flush as this hand of poker is the next best poker hands which you can draw as it is just below the Royal Flush.

The Three of a Kind card draw is one of the weaker cards that you can draw in a poker game. By knowing a bit about the type of poker hands which can be taken in a game, you stand to have more of a chance of winning a game. While it may seem rather confusing at first you will soon understand which cards are used in the various poker hands.

The main fact which you will need to keep in mind is that these poker hands can change for the different variations of the game. Therefore having an idea of which hands you can use will allow you to have chance against the more experienced player. In general for poker the cards are the ones which have the value in the game. The individual suit does not carry any weight.

As the game of poker can be quite confusing for the newcomer it is always best to gain a through knowledge about all aspects of the game. As poker hands are one of the more important parts of the game you will need to know how to use these hands to get the winning pot into your sights and hands.

Can someone please help me with a probability/statistics problem?
"Among the 2,598,960 possible five card poker hands from a standard 52 card deck, how many contain at least one card that is not a diamond (compliment of "all diamonds")?" If someone could please explain how to solve this step by step, I would greatly appreciate it since math is not my strong suit. I know it has something to do with either permutations or combinations, but beyond that, I'm at a complete loss.
