How to beat the recession with online poker

If you're like many other people in todays post growth turmoil then we have an answer for you on how to beat the credit crunch - learning to play online poker. Learning to play online poker can be great fun and isn't as hard as you'd imagine. Hard dedication and a keen desire to learn all you can will have you winning hands in no time at all. http://www.888pokerbonuscode.com

A perfect place to start your journey on learning poker is to find an online learning resource or course, some are free and some are a one-off fee but either way you must start with a course to take you through all the correct ways to play poker and to teach you the fundamentals of the game. It is essential that you start by learning with a professional course, otherwise you might probably play a few hands, loose a packet and not go back! Charles Dorwin gave us a tip on the sensible way to learn online poker "I've seen many people signup to a room and try to start playing immediately with no training... it's a disaster! Usually they start with big pot games thinking they're some big poker player when in fact they only know the very basics of the game. It's such a pity as if they got the proper training they would have a greta head start against many of the players online. I'd recommend anyone to start with an online course. Many are free now and they will even give you a great bonus once you have completed the course."

The recent downturn in the economy does not have to affect you financially if you're willing to learn a top money making skill like learning to play online poker. One classic mistake many new players make is not getting properly trained. Training is vital to your ability to succeed online. You can always try and learn on the job but many new players complain that they wish they had done their homework before launching into their part-time career of playing poker online. The following steps will help you to start the learning process.

1. Search for an online course - hopefully there is no cost
2. Practice with some friends or even try and rope in your family for a game
3. Search for a suitable mentor online to help you progress your game
4. Find small money games so you can practice and not loose all your money at one go
5. Keep a straight face at all times - show no emotion
6. Don't try and cheat - you'll only hurt yourself in the end
7. Study your opponents - do they have a "tell"
8. Bet according to your position on the table
9. Try and play as often as you can
10. Three words - practice, practice, practice online poker

The steps are a great way to start on the road to being a good poker player. By not following these steps you will not learn as fast and will make many beginners mistakes - this can be disastrous in the short and long term. As with any sport or hobby the sure way to success is to get good advice and then to practice.

Does anyone else think pokerstars VIP program is actually good, and possible better than fulltilt rakeback?
I play 1/2 NL cash games, two tables at a time. I've been playing on fulltilt for a long time now, but since they switched their rakeback from dealt hands to contributed hands, my rakeback has dropped considerably. Plus on fulltilt, any time you use your accumulated points, this gets deducted from your rakeback, which makes me never want to use my points because it will just cost me money. I switched to pokerstars for the $600 first deposit bonus. Their VIP program seemed bad at first and didn't pay much attention to it, but now after accumulating points it seems pretty good. If you can reach goldstar status every month you're eligible for the weekly and monthly tournaments and you accumulate points much faster which can then be used for cash or tournaments or material things. Plus they have the stellar rewards which can put another $1k in your pocket for the year. I may just stick with pokerstars permanently. What do you think?
